After the second level of the trial began, An Bao's eyes grew vacant and his reactions became sluggish. Walking down the street, he constantly heard people complaining about "not wanting to work" or "life being so tiring," while his own inner thoughts were so faint they were drowned out by other voices.
He reached up to touch the top of his head, but he couldn't feel his own hand.
He hadn't forgotten about the trial, but his sense of time had become disordered. He couldn't be sure whether he had trained that morning, or the day before, or how many days had passed at all.
