Chapter 32: The First Step Toward Power

When Anshul left the school courtyard that afternoon, he didn't immediately return to Mia's neighborhood. Instead, he walked slowly through the busy streets of San Francisco while thinking carefully about his next move. Up until now, he had mostly been observing the events of this world and spending time with Mia, but he knew that this could not continue forever. If he wanted to truly establish himself here, he needed something far more important than friendship or coincidence.

He needed money and influence.

Although he could eventually earn money in many ways using knowledge from other worlds, he also understood that he needed a legitimate foundation in this world. A large business would give him status, credibility, and the ability to operate freely without raising suspicion.

More importantly, if Genovia was going to become his future base, he would need serious economic power to support everything he planned to build later.

Anshul stopped in front of a small café and sat down near the window. After ordering coffee, he took out his phone and opened the familiar interface of the World Theater.

The floating screen appeared quietly in front of him.

Traveler Level: 1

Active Worlds: 2

• Limitless – 41%

• Princess Diaries – Active

The progress of the Limitless world continued to move forward steadily. Eddie Morra would eventually become extremely powerful in that world, gaining control over the pharmaceutical company connected to NZT. Anshul didn't need to interfere with that timeline yet. When the perfected drug appeared later, he could return and benefit from it.

But right now his focus was different.

He needed to build something here.

He leaned back in his chair and thought carefully.

San Francisco was one of the largest technology centers in the world. Even in the early 2000s, many companies were beginning to grow rapidly here. With his knowledge from the future, Anshul already knew several industries that would explode in value over the next decade.

Internet services.

Online platforms.

Software infrastructure.

And digital entertainment.

Even a small start in those areas could eventually become enormous.

However, starting a company required something he still lacked.

Identity.

Right now, in the Princess Diaries world, Anshul technically didn't exist in any government database. No passport. No legal documents. No employment history.

If someone looked closely enough, his presence here would raise questions.

And that was dangerous.

He tapped his fingers lightly on the table.

There were several ways to solve this problem.

The simplest one was through Genovia.

If Mia eventually accepted her position as princess, Queen Clarisse would have the authority to grant him legal residency or even citizenship through royal arrangements.

But that solution depended on future events.

For now, he needed a temporary method.

A faint smile appeared on Anshul's face.

"There's always another way."

He finished his coffee and stood up.

Instead of returning to Mia's neighborhood, he walked toward the downtown financial district. Tall buildings rose around him as the afternoon traffic filled the streets with noise and movement.

After walking for nearly thirty minutes, Anshul finally stopped in front of a modern office building.

Inside this building were several small investment firms.

Anshul walked into the lobby confidently.

The receptionist looked up.

"Can I help you?"

"I'm here to meet someone from the investment department," Anshul said calmly.

"Do you have an appointment?"

"Not yet."

She looked slightly confused.

"Then—"

"I have a business proposal."

His tone was calm but confident.

Something about his expression made the receptionist hesitate for a moment before finally picking up the phone.

"Please wait."

While she made the call, Anshul glanced around the lobby.

This was only the beginning.

If things went according to his plan, within a few years he would build a company powerful enough to influence entire industries.

And eventually, that company would move its headquarters to Genovia.

A small country with a future princess he cared about.

Five minutes later, the elevator doors opened and a man in a suit walked toward the lobby.

"You're the one with the proposal?"

"Yes."

"What kind of proposal?"

Anshul smiled slightly.

"The kind that can make you a lot of money."

The man studied him for a moment.

Then he gestured toward the elevator.

"Alright. Let's hear it."

As the elevator doors closed behind them, Anshul looked at the city skyline through the glass wall.

This was the first step.

The first piece of the empire he intended to build across worlds.

And it started here—

In a quiet business meeting in San Francisco.
