A few minutes passed, and we soon drank our coffees as we continue our talk, which after that we left be cafe with a smile.
"Like i said man, don't log in all alone and wait for me, if we want to become the most hunted players in all of Edenlord Chronicles, then we'll have to work together." I said as i walked together with Eito at the side of the road.
"Yeah yeah i get it, that was my fault alright." Eito replied before he placed both of his hands on his nape.
"Anyway, why don't we go to the internet cafe today?!" I decided to invite Eito to the internet cafe, since our talk was over and we also didn't have anymore plans after, the correct action now is that we should log into Edenlord Chronicles.
Eito giggled, almost menacingly. He then tapped my shoulder and said, "Your treat."
"Keuk.." I grunted, it was a bit of a surprise but i kind of expected it, back then when we were in the cafe, he was the one that paid for my milk coffee. "Fine, but only for 3 hours."
"Hoho!" Eito chuckled in joy as he let go of his grip from my shoulder and walked forward. "That's my man."
I quickly followed Eito's step and walked alongside him, the internet cafe wasn't that far, but it will take us a minute to arrive there.
I noticed that Eito was focusing on what's infront of him, and from the looks of it, he seems to not want to talk right now, so i decided to look around in hope of finding something interesting.
Countless people walked pass us, some dressed in suits while others dressed in casual clothes, even in the weekend, some people still have to work.
Hmm.. Is there going to be an event soon?
I turned my head and saw a poster on a wall, from a quick glance, it seems to be an invitation for a school festival.
School festival huh.. I never saw one but theres a lot of it in anime, isn't it the same?..
As i was thinking about a few series that i once watched, my leg stumbled upon a rock and i almost fell.
"W- woah.." I said while trying to not lose my balance.
"Pfft.. What the hell are you staring at that you can't see that pebble below you." Eito added, his face clearly trying not to laugh.
I was about to reply when suddenly. I felt a shake in my body.

"H- huh?" I initially thought that it was just my imagination, but a second later, i became convinced that it is indeed not the case.
An earthquake?!..

"W- WOAH!" Eito shouted as his body reverberated, the two of us then realized, that a disaster was about to happen.
"S- SHIT! ITS AN EARTHQUAKE!" I screamed, my body was about to fall, but before it could, i grabbed Eito's shirt and pushed him. "RUN!"
"W- WHAT'S HAPPENING!?" A passerby stood still, her body then drop to the ground.
Not only her, but everyone in the vicinity, they were all panicking.
"GET TO SAFETY! QUICK!"
"THIS IS NOT A SMALL EARTHQUAKE!"
"DAMN IT! THE GROUND!"
"H- HEY! HEY! THE ROAD ARE SPLITTING!"
"AGHH!!"

A building fell, crushing those who are unfortunately standing beneath it. The earthquake continued to rage, and as time passed, it only grew stronger.
"WE NEED TO GET OUT!" Eito screamed before he took my hand and guided me through all of the rubbles and destructions.
SHIT! What the fuck is happening today!? Fuck! fuck! there's no way an earthquake this severe can last this long!
We ran, and ran, avoiding tall buildings and structures that looks fragile. We avoided the crowds, and slipped through. However, the earthquake has yet to stop. The ground kept splitting, massive sinkholes appeared everywhere, swallowing humans, cars, and everything above it.
People died, some got buried alive, while others fell into the sinkholes.
As for me and Eito, we were able to survive for approximately a minute, before out of nowhere-
"W- WAIT!" I tried telling Eito to slow down as i couldn't keep up with his pace, and amidst all of the chaos around, i noticed something.
Infront of us, was an electric pole that's about to fall down.
SHIT!
In that moment, i remembered the other electric pole that i saw within the cafe, it looked similar. That's when i realized why i felt scared after looking at that electric pole.
"ATLEAST! YOU NEED TO SURVIVE!! HORUSS!!" I used all of my breath, and leaped forward.
"H- HUH!? DAMN! CAYDE YOU BASTARD!!!" Eito looked back, and saw my hand reaching out to him. His body soon got pushed, and i fell to the ground.
"CAYDE! S- SHIT! DON'T YOU EVER THINK I'LL LEAVE YOU HERE!" Eito replied, he was in horror.
What awaited me after saving him was none other than death itself, as the electric pole slowly leaned and crushed me under its weight.
CRASH!
But before my vision faded, i saw a brief moment, it was Eito looking at my soon-to-be corpse, and while my conciousness still hasn't left my body, i saw a sinkhole appeared beneath him.
"K- KEUKK!!.. HEH! FUCK IT ALL! IF YOU'RE GOING DOWN THEN IM GOING DOWN TOO! SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE MAN!" Eito screamed for one last time, but his voice sounded blurry to me, my senses were numbed, and i can't make out anything else after that.

I wanted to shout, i wanted to warn him, but before my voice could be heard, my vision went dark.
The last thing i saw in my life, was my best friend's death. Even when i sacrificed myself, in the end, we both died together.

It's cold.. Really cold.. Yet– I didn't feel the need for warmth– No.. It's not that i don't want to.. I can't.
Cayde mumbled to himself, his voice came directly from his mind, he tried to move his body, but to no avail. It's almost as if he no longer had a physical appearance.
Ahh damnit.. Is this limbo?.. Am i meant to be stuck here for eternity?—
Mmhh.. Im sure i would be panicking right now, but surprisingly, i feel nothing at all..
Man.. If i knew it would be limbo, i would've done something more meaningful with my life, atleast give me a reincarnation or something.. An isekai! something like that, to a fantasy world..

There was no one that could hear him, there was nothing that could reach him, but Cayde hadn't gave up yet. And his wish, it was heard by the limbo itself.
10 seconds passed in silence, Cayde had already thought that his blabbering was useless, but unbeknownst to him, and also to his surprise, Cayde suddenly saw a small dot of light infront of him.
Is that.. OH FUCK YEAH! THAT'S MY JACKPOT ISN'T IT!

That light grew bigger, and eventually it engulfed everything before slowly dimming.
