Chapter 66 - Chapter 6: The Hidden Chapter — Tiaya

The stars were still watching.

High above the fractured sky, the Constellations shimmered like an audience seated in a cosmic theater. Their golden threads stretched across the heavens, quietly observing the struggle between the Reader and the Unfinished Author.

Dave felt their attention constantly now.

Every thought.

Every action.

Every decision.

Watched.

Judged.

Recorded.

And that made his next move far more dangerous.

He stood at the edge of a cracked observation platform overlooking the Iron Ocean. The molten sea glowed faintly in the distance, casting orange light across the broken land.

Jack leaned against a rusted railing.

"…you've been quiet for ten minutes."

Dave sighed.

"…because I'm thinking."

Ava crossed her arms.

"That usually means something complicated is about to happen."

David added calmly, "Or extremely reckless."

Dave glanced toward the distant horizon where the Unfinished Author had disappeared with its growing collection of stabilized fragments.

"…we need information."

Jack shrugged.

"…okay, that's normal."

Dave continued.

"…specifically about the submarine."

That word immediately changed the mood.

Ava frowned.

"The one from your memories?"

Dave nodded.

Fragments of the integration memories were returning more clearly now. Metal corridors. Pressure alarms. The deep ocean pressing against reinforced glass.

And a secret.

A secret someone had tried very hard to hide.

David spoke quietly.

"…the submarine wasn't just a vehicle."

Dave nodded.

"It was a containment project."

Jack blinked.

"…containment for what?"

Dave looked toward the Iron Ocean.

"…something older than the fragments."

Simon whispered in Dave's mind.

"…the ocean hides many unfinished stories."

Dave exhaled slowly.

"…and the submarine was built to study them."

Ava leaned forward.

"…then we infiltrate whoever controls it."

Dave shook his head.

"We can't."

"Not as we are."

Jack groaned.

"…I hate that sentence already."

Dave activated the Reader's Viewpoint.

New narrative threads appeared around him.

He began writing something unusual.

Not an ending.

Not a continuation.

A disguise.

The system flickered.

Narrative Alteration Initiated

Temporary Identity Rewrite

Purpose: Undercover Observation

Jack stared.

"…what are you doing?"

Dave answered calmly.

"Changing roles."

The threads wrapped around his body.

Reality shifted.

The Reader's narrative temporarily adjusted.

Dave's appearance began to change.

His shoulders narrowed.

His height adjusted slightly.

Hair lengthened into dark strands falling past his shoulders.

His voice softened.

The transformation finished within seconds.

Standing where Dave had been—

Was someone else.

A young woman.

Calm expression.

Sharp eyes.

Ava blinked twice.

"…well."

"…that worked."

Jack stared.

"…Dave?"

The woman sighed.

"…yes."

Jack rubbed his face.

"…I am not emotionally prepared for this."

David remained composed.

"…identity concealment."

Dave—now someone else—nodded.

"…exactly."

Simon whispered softly.

"…a new role."

The system confirmed it.

Temporary Identity Created

Name: Tiaya

Narrative Role: Civilian Observer

Purpose: Information Acquisition

Identity Stability: 84%

Jack circled her.

"…this is weird."

Tiaya crossed her arms.

"Focus."

Ava studied her carefully.

"…you look completely different."

"Even the narrative signature changed."

David nodded.

"…Constellations will see a different character."

Tiaya smiled slightly.

"That's the point."

She turned toward the distant industrial structures near the Iron Ocean.

Massive platforms floated above the molten water.

Old research facilities.

Some still active.

One of them contained the submarine project archives.

Tiaya spoke quietly.

"…I'll infiltrate as a civilian worker."

Jack raised a hand.

"…hold on."

"…you're going alone?"

Tiaya nodded.

"Less attention."

David spoke carefully.

"…identity stability is only 84 percent."

"…if the narrative weakens, your real role may leak."

Tiaya shrugged.

"I'll manage."

Simon whispered softly.

"…be careful."

Hours later.

The research platform felt strangely alive.

Metal walkways stretched across the dark ocean surface, lit by flickering industrial lamps.

Workers moved between storage containers and control towers.

Nobody paid attention to Tiaya.

Exactly as planned.

She carried a small data device, pretending to check supply reports while quietly observing the facility.

Voices echoed across the platform.

"…shipment arrives tomorrow."

"…submarine calibration still unstable."

"…don't let the upper command see those logs."

Tiaya's curiosity sharpened.

Submarine.

She moved closer to the control station.

Inside, two technicians were arguing.

"…I'm telling you the pressure readings are wrong."

"…because something is down there!"

"…stop saying that!"

Tiaya quietly connected her device to a nearby terminal.

The system began copying data.

Files appeared.

Submarine Log 17

Submarine Log 22

Deep Dive Incident Report

Her eyes widened.

The logs described something terrifying.

During a deep ocean scan—

The submarine had detected something alive beneath the ocean floor.

Something massive.

Older than the Iron Ocean itself.

Simon whispered faintly.

"…the buried narrative."

Tiaya kept copying files.

But then—

Footsteps.

A voice behind her.

"…hey."

She froze.

A security officer stood behind her.

"…you're not assigned to this station."

Tiaya turned slowly.

"…supply audit."

The officer frowned.

"…show me your authorization."

Tiaya's device was still downloading.

The progress bar was only halfway done.

Her identity stability flickered.

Identity Integrity: 72%

The officer stepped closer.

"…what department are you from?"

Tiaya smiled calmly.

"Maintenance."

He narrowed his eyes.

"…maintenance staff don't access submarine archives."

The download reached 78%.

Tiaya's mind raced.

If he checked the system—

Her identity would collapse.

And Dave's narrative would be exposed.

The officer reached toward the terminal.

"…let me see that."

Tiaya moved slightly.

Blocking the screen.

"…system glitch."

The officer looked suspicious.

"…step aside."

The download reached 93%.

The officer grabbed her wrist.

"…now."

The final file transferred.

100%.

Tiaya disconnected the device.

Then smiled.

"…sorry."

The officer blinked.

"…for what?"

Her eyes glowed faintly.

The Final Chapter Authority activated briefly.

A tiny narrative push.

The officer suddenly yawned.

"…I… forgot why I came here."

Tiaya stepped away calmly.

"…night shift fatigue."

He rubbed his eyes.

"…yeah…"

"…probably."

Tiaya walked away across the metal walkway.

Her device now contained everything.

Submarine logs.

Deep ocean scans.

And the first clue about what was hiding beneath the Iron Ocean.

But as she disappeared into the shadows—

The stars above shimmered.

A constellation message appeared.

Constellation "The Silent Archivist" is impressed by the Reader's disguise.

Constellation "The Laughing Trickster" finds this situation amusing.

Far away—

The Unfinished Author paused.

Looking toward the ocean.

New glowing words appeared around it.

"The Reader writes new characters."

"Interesting."

Tiaya tightened her grip on the device.

The mission was successful.

But someone—or something—had noticed.

And the deeper she looked into the submarine project…

The more dangerous the story was becoming.
