Chapter 3 - Carried Away By The Atmosphere

Valeria's eyes kept staring at the rose pendant on her beautiful bracelet. She really liked it because it looked so pretty. Moreover, roses were one of her favorite flowers.

She even smiled slightly as she looked at it. She was quite happy with the bracelet. 'This will be my favorite thing now.'

"So... which lucky man got our Valy? I am so curious about it!" asked Valeria's friend, Cynthia. She was the most curious woman in their group.

"He's from the Lawrence family!" Cassey replied enthusiastically, looking at her friends one by one to see their reactions.

Her three other friends were surprised to hear that, as the Lawrence name was very famous. No one was unfamiliar with the billionaire family. Even the small mafia who had once received funding from them for a business could worship the family.

"No way! Valy, you're so lucky! The Lawrence family, every woman's dream to bear that name. Valeria Scarlett will become Valeria Lawrence. You must be so happy!!" Jessy was also enthusiastic when she heard the news.

"Happy? Heh... You've got to be kidding. I actually wish the wedding never happened. I don't want to get married, I want to be free!" replied Valeria, taking another sip of her drink.

In her opinion, marriage was restrictive and unimportant. For a woman like her, she preferred freedom over being tied down in a marriage she considered ridiculous.

Especially an arranged marriage, it's like a joke that isn't funny.

"But isn't the head of the Lawrence family very handsome? He's also still young. I heard he's so successful that everyone admires him!"

Jessy confirmed this, searching the internet and finding a photo of Dominic there. It even said he was only 32 years old, 192 cm tall, and had a very ideal body.

"He's handsome, tall, and also very wealthy. Isn't he perfect? If I were you, I wouldn't think twice about marrying him," said Jessy.

"Even if he asks for children, I'll give him as many as he wants. He must be very good in bed," she continued.

Bella choked when she heard Jessy's comment. At the same time, she felt that she would do the same thing. "Pffft... That's true, judging from his hands, it looks like he's not messing around. A man like that must be extraordinary and have high stamina."

"Oh come on, Bella. I'm not sure he can satisfy me later. Heh... How embarrassing," replied Valeria as she drank her whiskey again.

The five of them laughed at Valeria's words and went back to talking about the man like a group of ordinary women gossiping about boys. They were really enjoying the night.

Valeria didn't want to think too much about her wedding, so she invited her friends to keep drinking until morning. Even if it meant ordering all the drinks in the club that night.

"Let's have fun until our heads are empty!" she exclaimed, raising her glass and cheering with her four friends.

******

Slowly, Valeria's eyes opened. Her head felt so sore, and her body was still weak. She still felt dizzy from drinking all night with her friends. When she woke up, she found herself in her room.

On her comfortable bed, Valeria pushed her hair back with her fingers, trying to remember how she got home because the last thing she remembered was getting drunk with her friends.

"Uhhh... Did I drive home last night? Hufftt..."

Soon there was a knock on the door. Valeria turned and heard the voice of an old woman. She was one of the maids who had served her family even before Valeria was born.

"Ms. Valeria, I brought you some medicine. Would you like to take it?" The old woman's voice could be heard from behind the door.

"Yes, come in, Jane."

Jane opened Valeria's door and entered, carrying a tray with a bowl of warm soup, a glass of water, and a small bottle of medicine. "I also brought some soup to make you feel better."

She nodded. "Thank you, Jane. Just put it on my table."

The woman nodded and placed the items she had brought on the table. She excused herself to leave, but before she exited the room, Valeria called her back.

Jane stopped and turned to look at her. "What's wrong, Ms. Valeria?"

"Do you know... Uuhh... How did I get home? Did I drive my car myself?" asked Valeria, who still felt pain in her head. She got out of bed and sat down on a chair to eat her soup.

"Oh, about that... You didn't get home alone, Miss. Mr. Lawrence drove you home."

Hearing that name, Valeria slowly turned to Jane and asked if she had heard correctly. Jane admitted that she herself had opened the door for Dominic when he brought Valeria home.

"Mr. Lawrence carried you and laid you on the bed last night," she explained.

"Lawrence?! He did what?!"

Valeria sighed heavily, her still-aching head feeling even more dizzy as she thought about it. She tried to remember what had happened last night, how she had met Dominic that night.

'If he brought me here, that means he was also there that night...'

The woman closed her eyes, trying to remember the events of last night. Slowly, one by one, the memories came back. Last night, she and her friends were so drunk they almost fell asleep at their table.

Then Valeria could see someone coming with two big men behind him standing near her. The man with black hair and brown eyes, Valeria recognized him as Dominic, but that night she was so drunk she couldn't think straight.

-Flashback-

Valeria narrowed her eyes as she looked at Dominic, who was standing there staring at her and her heavily intoxicated friends. Seeing him, Valeria immediately stood up, her body swaying, and pointed at Dominic.

"Oh... It's you... I thought it was someone else. Hey, guys, he's here! That annoying rich handsome guy," Valeria exclaimed, patting Dominic's cheeks with her hands.

"You are handsome and rich... But I'm not sure about marrying you... Is someone like me worthy of that? Hehehe... Hahahaha..." she laughed.

Dominic's eyes glanced at Valeria's hand touching him, then he grabbed her wrist and pulled Valeria closer. Their eyes met, Dominic's brown eyes and Valeria's blue eyes staring at each other.

"My future wife is so naughty. Now it's time for you to say goodbye to your friends." He immediately carried Valeria in a bridal style and took her away from there.

"Mnn... I still want to drink, put me down!" Valeria struggled to free herself, but Dominic held her tightly.

He ignored her protests completely. "You've had enough to drink. Your head will hurt badly when you wake up tomorrow morning."

"Mnnn..." Valeria hugged Dominic's neck affectionately and buried her face in his neck. She even kissed his neck. "You smell good... I really like it."

And that was the last thing she could remember before she finally lost consciousness and woke up in the morning.

-Flashback End-

Valeria's eyes widened as she remembered last night's events and what she had said to Dominic at the time. She felt so angry at herself for embarrassing herself in front of Dominic by saying all those things.

"You idiot, why did you say something like that!? Now he must be laughing at you at home! Fuck... It's so annoying!"

Feeling very embarrassed, Valeria ruffled her hair in frustration. She took her medicine and went into the bathroom to clean herself up, planning to go to the Lawrence family residence to vent her frustration.

She also wanted to clarify what she had said last night, which was due to her being drunk. She didn't want the man to get the wrong idea because it was clear that she hated him.
