A tall figure stepped into the moonlight.

His presence alone made the forest feel smaller.

I stepped back.
"Who are you?"
He didn't answer.
Instead his eyes dropped to the mark on my neck.
And widened.
"That's impossible."
My heart raced.
"What?"
He looked back at me, suddenly serious.
"Do you know what you are?"
I shook my head.
"I'm just an Omega."
He laughed quietly.
"No."
His voice turned dark.
"You're definitely not."
A distant howl echoed through the forest.
The stranger looked toward it.
"They're coming."
"Who?"
"Your former pack."
My stomach dropped.
"Why?"
He smirked slightly.
"Because now they know something they shouldn't."
"What?"
His eyes glowed faintly.
"That you're valuable."
