Chapter 66 - First Rounds

Relly stepped forward, intending to make the first move.

Her size advantage was going to be a major factor during the fight, while her Micy wasn't very potent or especially powerful; however, it could be vital when fighting someone like Celma.

Celma watched the taller girl begin to take a step; her eyes began to examine her body as she did, watching for any odd joints, muscle aches, or weak points that could cause a short burst of pain.

A taller opponent was a fierce challenge, but it wasn't something she couldn't overcome; all it requires is to be smart, aim for the weak points on the body, and make sure to end it quickly.

A longer battle would put more strain on Celma's endurance, while it would put a similar but less monumental strain on Relly's attacks.

Looking over the approaching woman, Celma's eyes darted around, yet she saw no opening for an attack.

Relly began to move a bit faster, and a moment later she was upon Celma, her fist flying down at the shorter girl.

Had this been a normal battle between two average humans, then the smaller opponent would typically have to dodge a rapid attack of this caliber, but these were not two average humans; these were two demon hunters.

Their bodies have been altered by the nova coursing through them.

Even if they only had micy's, the change was not something to scoff at; the two girls could easily compete against trained professional athletes, in terms of strength and speed alone.

As the fist of Relly grew closer to Celma, her own arm reeled downward, and her body twisted to compensate for the momentum the next action would require.

With mere inches from Celma's face being pulverized by Relly's attack, Celma's right arm flashed, then began moving forward and up with devastating speed, precision, and power.

It was a picture-perfect uppercut.

The air seemed to part as her fist sliced through it.

Her fist was glowing with an incandescent glow.

Relly's attack was still growing closer, yet Celma's fist was about to strike its mark before her own face was to be crushed.

Yet before either attack landed, Relly disappeared.

Within the same instant, she was a couple of steps back, where she had been a second before.

Relly's entire body reverted to the way it had been a mere second before; she was now back to a running motion, but now she was not moving forward.

Celma's arm continued to shoot upwards with devastating speed, yet all it hit was air. As the fist reached its apex, the air that had moved around it swirled, then shot upward in a cone.

Celma brought her incandescent arm down and shot Relly a sharp glare.

A second passed, then another. Relly moved as if she was breaking free from being frozen, beginning to fall forwards before catching herself.

The two girls shot each other a meaningful glance; the intent was not harsh, mean, or even murderous.

It was simply respect.

Relly straightened her body, running her hand through her short brunette hair as she did.

Her mouth began to open, but before she spoke, the voice boomed from above her.

"WHAT AN AMAZING FIRST STRIKE!!"

The voice was shouting even louder than before; it was filled with excitement.

"A picture-perfect uppercut by Celma; I see now why they call her the right arm of the gods! And what a stellar dodge by Relly; the name unhittable is really coming into play! What an incredible Start i cant wait to see who wins this!"

Solaris watched the two girls clash, his eyes filling with awe as the first attack was thrown.

How did she move like that? It was like she teleported in front of Celma, then when it was too dangerous, she dashed back. How, though?

Solaris wasn't the only one impressed by the display before him; Lucian's eyes were filled to the brim with anticipation and awe at the spectacle that was being performed in front of him.

"Solaris! Did you see that! That punch was so cool!"

Lucian's face lit up with a joyous smile, and his arm was shaking Solaris's shoulder.

"Yes... I... saw... It!"

Solaris felt his body being moved back and forth from Lucian's shaking.

The few people sitting near the two couldn't help but shoot odd glances.

"Selen, what did you think of that attack?"

Solaris turned his attention to the girl on his right.

Selen didn't reply for a moment, then, in an emotionless tone, she spoke.

"It was very pretty."

Solaris stared at Selen's emotionless face for a moment too long, and for that, her arms moved to cover herself.

"Is that all you ever think I'm doing!"

"I don't know your abilities; maybe one is to look through clothing."

Solaris looked at the girl before smiling and shaking his head.

"Fair enough, I guess, but I can confirm that it's not."

"I don't believe you."

Solaris sighed and turned back to the fight.

It had only been a moment, yet Celma was already striking her fist again, making contact with the unhittable girl.

Or it was for a moment; Relly had disappeared and reappeared where she had been a mere second before, her body once again still in motion but also not moving.

If this is how incredible a Micy fight is, then I wonder how amazing an Extramicy fight is going to be.

Solaris contained the urge to smile brightly.

He didn't want Selen to think anything weird, although he was certain that was all she thought about.

Jon Smit turned away from his microphone and looked at Arias.

"Do you see what I see?"

Arias opened her mouth, yet no words left it.

Instead, she typed.

'Yes, he's not impressed with any of this. Are you sure he'll participate during his round?'

Jon Smit read the text string, then answered bluntly.

"Yes, he will, ill see to it. I'll personally ensure that The Eclipse will fight with us. For the good of humanity."

Jon Smit brought his index and middle fingers into an L and whispered softly.

"Live long."
