Solaris rolled over, taking a momentary glance at his mangled shin.
Shit, this is going to hurt!
Taking a quick breath, Solaris began to move his leg into place. There were too many pieces to put back together perfectly, yet he still had no move as much as possible. As soon as he felt a piece grind against another, he hardened the bone.
Solaris had no way to fix the bone permanently, but he could possibly set it and then have it working enough to move. His head dashed around the dark space, which used to be a grand hall, making sure that no one was coming.
Ember was doing the same.
After a few moments, Solaris felt well enough to stand and attempted to do so, his face contorted with pure pain. As he made his way up, he hardened as much of his shin as possible, in the hopes of it letting him move.
"Good... Enough"
Solaris let out a pained grunt before forcing the shards to orbit a bit closer in preparation for the next attack.
"I did some pretty good damage to him, so it may take a...."
Solaris sensed the movement and slightly shifted his hand, balled up, the heat glowing brighter by the moment.
Feeling the demon approaching, he readied himself and warned Ember with a slight nod.
The incoming Dark prince appeared within the slight radiance the two hunters created, his dark horns seemed unpertrubed by the light, still remaining infinitely dark. Its mangled face now was obscured by a mask made of pure darkness. The mantle of the prince billowed as it moved, the speed making it look like wind.
Its hands grasping two swords made of pure darkness, as it grew near Solaris, it moved its arm, this time aiming down. At the same time, the demon leapt.
Only for it to be met by Embers' mace swinging into its head, the demon wasted no time contorting its body and using its wings, it blocked the strike, trusting its swords slid between the feathers and into Embers body.
If it had been anyone else, this would have been death, but not Ember. With a blast of fire, the mace shot forward like a rocket. bending the wing, yet it still held.
pushing more and more, Ember's body continued to rain with holes.
Solaris struck the ground as the mace ignited, his fist cracking the ground below. The fight was only a few feet above him.
Forcing his legs, he flew upwards with the help of the shards, his legs stinging with pain from the residual bone shards. He gritted his teeth so hard in an attempt to offset the pain.
Quickly approaching Solaris increased his speed and moved both his arms into position.
Within a flash, Solaris pierced the demon, its focus being entirely on Ember. Solaris had taken the hint and attacked his arms, heating to unfathomable heat before slowly boiling thought he skin, muscle, and bone of the demon, even piercing the other side.
Within his hand, two crystals sat.
With a violent collapse, Solaris crushed the crystals, then slipped back through the body and fell to the floor.
The darkness seemed to disappear, yet it didn't disappear.
Damn, it was three.....
Solaris attempted to make it to his feet, yet he had exhausted the last of his nova with the last attack.
He felt his eyes growing heavy, yet he remained awake, looking up at the final battle. Ember and the demon were trading blows, even though the prince was still slightly stronger.
"I refuse.... to lose."
With the last of his will, Solaris willed the shards to shoot up. The shards shot towards the demon one after another, while the prince simultaneously dodged the shards and Ember's violent swings, even deflecting a few.
Slowly, Solaris began to will the shards to move in a less uniform manner, resulting in a hail of incredibly sharp blades. Not even Ember was safe. A few cut him, leaving a myriad of cuts that took much longer to disappear into the fire that was Ember.
Solaris was running on less than fumes; he was barely running on will, he was about to lose, yet he didn't agree to lose.
No, I don't want to lose... I will win!
As the rapidly ascending and descending shards forming a rain fell, Solaris felt it, a perfect opportunity, and took it. As the Prince defended an attack with the mace, he stopped two shards far behind the creature and shot them directly into him. Narrowly, the shards slid through the holes Solaris had previously made and entered its body.
"Got ya."
The shards shot through the body, slicing internal organs and bones, yet the demon didn't stop moving, until the shards finally found the weakness, a small grey crystal within its brain.
As they did, the demon threw one of its swords at Solaris; the blade closed in on Solaris rapidly, a mere inch from his face.
With no time left, the shards surrounding the Crystal closed in and crushed it.
The dark blade vanished as a drop of blood slid down Solaris's forehead.
"I won....Huh.. AHHHHAGAHGAHA!!"
A distressed scream left Solaris ' mouth.
As the corpse fell from the sky, getting cut by some of the shards, Solaris felt new pain emerge from his back, as if it was being stabbed countless times by a small dagger.
Then it just stopped. Solaris felt a drop slide down the side of his face, and then, before he knew it, he was crying. His lips quivered, then he spoke in a rough voice.
"... it's...over...."
