Episode 2: When Fate Speaks Twice

Written by Babatunde Samuel Olamide

Sammy did not believe in coincidence.

He believed in timing.

In control.

In planning.

But ever since the night he met Jeneth under the rain, something inside him felt unsettled.

Her voice.

Her confidence.

The way she called him "Lion" without fear.

It stayed in his mind.

And Sammy was not a man who allowed distractions.

Three days later.

Sammy walked into the headquarters of a fast-growing real estate company for a major partnership meeting. He was sharp in his black suit, calm as always, eyes focused.

The conference room door opened.

He stepped inside.

Then he froze.

Sitting at the head of the table…

Was Jeneth.

Confident. Elegant. In full control.

She looked up.

Their eyes met.

A slow smile curved her lips.

"Well," she said smoothly, "Mr. Lion."

The room went silent.

Sammy recovered quickly. His face returned to its usual calm.

"Miss Rain Lover," he replied.

The board members looked confused.

"You two know each other?" one of them asked.

Jeneth crossed her legs gracefully.

"We've met," she said. "Briefly."

Sammy sat down directly opposite her.

But this time, the rain was not falling.

This was business.

As the meeting began, Sammy realized something important.

Jeneth was not just bold.

She was intelligent.

She spoke clearly, confidently presenting ideas, correcting figures, challenging strategies. She wasn't intimidated by anyone in the room — not even him.

And that impressed him more than he expected.

After the meeting ended successfully, the room slowly emptied.

Until it was just the two of them.

Jeneth stood up first.

"So," she said, walking toward him, "you didn't tell me you were a big businessman."

"You didn't tell me you were the CEO," Sammy replied.

She smiled slightly.

"You didn't ask."

He looked at her carefully.

"You don't like losing control, do you?"

She stepped closer.

"And you don't like strong women, do you?"

His jaw tightened slightly.

"I respect strength."

"Good," she replied. "Because I'm not the type to be controlled."

There was tension in the air.

Not anger.

Attraction.

Dangerous attraction.

Jeneth stopped inches away from him.

"Tell me something, Sammy," she said softly. "Are you always this calm?"

"Yes."

"And if someone challenges you?"

His eyes darkened slightly.

"Then they should be ready for the roar."

Her heart beat faster.

For the first time, she felt it.

Not just attraction.

But challenge.

She wasn't afraid of him.

But she knew this was not a man who loved halfway.

And Sammy knew something too.

Jeneth was not a woman who would submit easily.

Her phone rang, breaking the tension.

She glanced at the screen.

Her expression changed slightly.

"Excuse me," she said.

She stepped aside to answer the call.

Sammy watched her face turn serious.

Concern.

Worry.

And something else.

Fear.

When she ended the call, she looked different.

Less confident.

More human.

"Is everything okay?" Sammy asked calmly.

She forced a smile.

"It's nothing."

But Sammy knew it wasn't nothing.

And something inside him shifted again.

Because now…

It wasn't just attraction.

It was protectiveness.

The lion inside him was waking up.

As Jeneth walked away that afternoon, she didn't realize something important.

The challenges in her life were about to collide with a man who does not walk away from battles.

And when a lion decides to protect something…

He does it with his whole heart.
