Maya's POV
The sound of Sebastian's voice cut through the evening air with lethal precision. He appeared at the entrance of the small hedge maze, and the expression carved into his features made my breath catch. This wasn't ordinary anger radiating from him. Raw, primal rage simmered beneath his controlled exterior, held in check by nothing more than sheer willpower.
"Sebastian." Roderick smoothly regained his composure, adjusting his expensive jacket with practiced ease. "Simply having a pleasant conversation with your charming wife."
"Get away from her. Right now." Sebastian moved forward with predatory grace, every line of his body coiled for violence.
"She didn't appear to mind my company until moments ago." Roderick's gaze slid toward me, malice dancing in his dark eyes.
"He attempted to force himself on me," I managed, my voice shaking from the surge of adrenaline coursing through my veins. "He's aware of our—"
