Maya's POV
Dr. Daugherty cleared his throat as he addressed us in the sterile hospital corridor. "Mr. Sterling, your grandfather experienced an angina attack, but his condition has been stabilized. Our examination confirms what the Medisburg specialists initially diagnosed."
Sebastian stood rigid beside me, his silence more telling than any words could be. Only the muscle working in his jaw revealed the turmoil beneath his controlled exterior.
"The blocked coronary artery will require surgical correction," the physician continued. "However, we're not looking at an emergency situation. We have a window of several months to prepare his body and improve the surgical outcome."
"The risk assessment remains unchanged?" Sebastian's question came out clinical and measured, though I detected the underlying tremor he tried to suppress.
