My fingers fumbled with the dress zipper as Sebastian's voice cut through the bedroom air, thick with irritation and something that resembled raw jealousy.
"This is ridiculous," he muttered from where he sat propped against the headboard. "Here I am, watching my wife prepare for a meeting with the man who used to share her bed, while I can barely stand without wincing."
I caught his reflection in the mirror as I smoothed the deep navy fabric over my hips. The dress hugged my curves perfectly without being provocative—professional yet appealing. Exactly what this situation required.
"Stop calling it what it isn't," I replied, applying another layer of mascara with practiced precision. "This isn't some romantic reunion, Sebastian. We both know what's at stake."
"Tell that to Julian," he countered sharply. "The way he sounded when you arranged this little rendezvous... like he was expecting to rekindle old flames."
