Ficool

Chapter 38 - he returned

Rain poured heavily outside.

Thunder echoed across the city.

And somewhere in the darkness—

A man walked free.

Arjun Mehra.

Escaped.

Gone.

And angrier than ever.

The prison alarms meant nothing now.

Because his mind had only one focus—

Kiara.

Back at the mansion—

Kiara sat in the study, reading through company files.

But she couldn't focus.

Alisha's words kept replaying in her head.

"Some people never stay buried."

Something about it felt wrong.

Too specific.

Too knowing.

Aarav walked in.

Still on a call.

His expression serious.

He ended it and looked at her.

"We have a problem."

Kiara's stomach dropped.

"What happened?"

Aarav's voice turned low.

"Arjun escaped."

Silence.

Complete.

Cold.

Kiara stood instantly.

"No…"

Aarav nodded grimly.

"Two hours ago."

Her face paled.

Because she knew Arjun.

She knew how his mind worked.

And if he was free—

He wouldn't run.

He would come back.

"For me," she whispered.

Aarav stepped toward her.

"He won't get near you."

Kiara looked at him.

Fear flickering behind her calm.

"You don't know how obsessed he is."

Aarav's eyes darkened.

"Then let him come."

That night—

Security around the mansion doubled.

Guards at every gate.

Cameras on every floor.

No one slept.

But still—

Kiara couldn't shake the feeling.

Like someone was watching.

Waiting.

Planning.

She stepped onto the balcony for air.

Trying to calm herself.

Then—

Her phone buzzed.

Unknown number.

Her heart stopped.

She answered slowly.

"…Hello?"

A soft voice came.

Too familiar.

Too calm.

"Did you miss me?"

Kiara froze.

"Arjun—"

He chuckled.

"You look happier these days."

Her blood ran cold.

She turned instantly—

Scanning the dark outside.

"Where are you?"

His voice lowered.

"Closer than you think."

Kiara's breathing stopped.

"Don't touch him," Arjun whispered.

Her voice shook.

"What?"

"If you make me choose between loving you…"

A pause.

"…and destroying him…"

His tone turned dark.

"You already know what I'll choose."

The line disconnected.

Kiara stood frozen.

Terrified.

Aarav rushed in.

"What happened?"

She turned slowly.

Voice barely above a whisper—

"He's here."

Outside the mansion gate—

In the shadows—

Arjun stood watching.

A slow smile on his face.

Because this time—

He wasn't coming for revenge.

He was coming for obsession.

And obsessed people—

Never stop easily.
