Darkness does not always arrive with fury.

Days turned into weeks.
Machines continued draining his energy. Scientists watched through reinforced glass, studying every fluctuation in his power.
But something inside Raun had changed.
The anger they expected never came.
There was no screaming.
No struggle.
Only silence.
And understanding.
If humanity feared him…
Then humanity had already made its choice.
The lunar-seal array surrounding his body pulsed with pale blue light, designed to suppress his abilities.
But suppression requires resistance.
And Raun had stopped resisting.
The moment he accepted what humanity truly believed about him—
The system faltered.
Hairline fractures spread across the containment field.
The restraints began to tremble.
Technicians noticed immediately.
"Energy levels rising!"
"That's impossible—the seal should be holding!"
Cracks of black energy began spreading along the chains.
Like shadows becoming solid.
Then—
They shattered.
The restraints dissolved into smoke.
The containment chamber collapsed inward as the surge of power rippled through the underground facility.
Sirens screamed.
Security forces rushed into the corridor.
But they arrived too late.
Security cameras captured only one final image.
A single figure rising through the smoke.
Eyes glowing crimson.
Above the surface, clouds parted across the night sky.
And the moon changed.
Its pale silver light deepened—
Until it turned completely blood red.
Raun Veyrath looked up at the sky.
His voice was calm.
"You do not deserve salvation."
In that moment—
