Chapter 2 - The First Bloody Test

Lian and Aryan left the room and walked down the long corridor, which seemed endless due to the tension between them and the fear of what awaited them at the end...!!!

The long corridor ended at a massive metal door, cold and gleaming under the bright white light. Lian and Aryan walked cautiously, each breath heavy, each movement calculated.

Suddenly, the door opened, and what they found before them was not just an ordinary room… but a deadly testing ground.

Inside, dozens of other participants were fighting mercilessly. Some wielded sharp weapons, others used physical blows, and some fell to the ground, blood splattering on the cold floor. Screams of pain, the sound of bones crunching, and everything around them made the air thick with terror.

One of the participants tried to push Lian aside, his voice shouting:

"Get out of my way! This is your last chance!"

Lian backed away, her heart pounding, fear mingling with anger. Before the attacker could strike, Aryan appeared beside her, his hands moving with unexpected speed.

"Leave him alone… Don't try to fight back yourself!"

With astonishing skill, he pushed the attacker away and stopped him, then pinned him to the ground in a way that prevented him from moving without killing him.

Lianne felt both surprised and relieved: she hadn't known he was so protective.

"Stay behind me, follow my movements… step by step," Aryan said in a low but firm voice, his eyes scanning for any threat around them.

The other participants began to notice them together. One of the older men exclaimed,

"These two are trying to survive together? They're not going to get away with it!"

The real attack began, blows and knives flying, every movement demanding a swift reaction. Lianne felt her body tense, every nerve in her body on the verge of exploding.

"Don't stop… Focus!" Aryan said, pushing her hand away from a knife that was hurtling toward her. She took a deep breath, trying to control her fear, and with every step, she realized one thing: without him, she had no chance of survival.

The other participants were screaming, fighting, some falling to the ground, blood splattering everywhere. The sounds of pain and screams grew louder, the echo of their footsteps on the metal floor mingling with the gurgling of blood.

Lianne found herself having to act quickly, every movement meticulously calculated, every command from Ariane directed at staying alive:

"Jump here, hurry, don't look back!"

She took another deep breath and followed his movements, pushing through her fear, each time he offered a helping hand or shielded her from a deadly attack.

Then the machine's voice came from a distant loudspeaker:

"All doors will close in one minute. Anyone who doesn't reach the other side... will be forgotten."

The pressure became suffocating. The other participants began to collapse, some falling into traps, some suffering fatal injuries. Blood splattered, and the screams gradually faded into the echoing hall. Lianne felt her heart about to burst, but she didn't stop. Every time Aryan was by her side, saving her, giving her silent signals, calming her fear with simple words:

"We're through it… just one more step."

Finally, after minutes that felt like ages, they overcame all the obstacles together and reached the other side of the room. The doors closed behind them, and a deathly silence descended, mingled with the metallic smell of blood, sweat, and fear.

Lianne turned to him, her eyes filled with both relief and fear, her voice trembling slightly:

"We made it…" Aryan smiled slowly, his eyes half-hidden beneath his hood, his voice low but sharp:

"Yes… but don't think this is the end. This is just the beginning."

She fell silent for a moment, feeling the weight of everything that had happened—the blood, the screams, the terror—but she knew one thing: his presence by her side gave her the strength to survive.
