Chapter 128 - Chapter 8: Turn It Up

They didn't hear it.

That was the problem.

"Ren, whatever you're experiencing," Izuku Midoriya said, flipping through his notes rapidly, "it's likely some form of internal synchronization between your quirk and neural processing—"

"…It's a theme song," I said.

"…Right," he nodded. "A subjective auditory manifestation—"

"…Theme. Song."

Kaito smirked.

"…He's not letting that go."

"I'm not," I said. "Because it's real."

Mina crossed her arms.

"…Okay but like… if it's real, why can't we hear it?"

That made me pause.

"…Good question."

The Idea

I looked down at my hand.

Space flickering slightly around my fingers.

"…If I can bend space…"

I opened a small portal.

Closed it.

Opened another.

"…Then I can probably bend sound too."

Midoriya froze.

"…Wait—"

"…If the sound exists as a frequency in your perception—"

"…I can project it," I finished.

Kirishima grinned.

"DUDE—DO IT."

Mina immediately backed up.

"…Wait, is this gonna explode?"

"…Probably not."

"…PROBABLY?!" Denki yelled.

First Attempt

I took a breath.

Focused.

That rhythm.

That beat.

That power in my head—

"…Okay…"

I reached inward—

Then outward—

And pulled.

Nothing

"…Okay that didn't work."

"…Give it a second," Kaito said.

I frowned.

"…No, I can feel it—I just need to—"

Second Attempt

I raised both hands.

Space warped—

But this time—

Not visually.

Audibly.

A low hum filled the air.

Everyone froze.

"…Wait…" Mina whispered.

The First Sound

Thump.

Kirishima's eyes widened.

"…NO WAY—"

Thump.

Clang.

The air vibrated slightly.

Midoriya looked like his brain just exploded.

"…YOU'RE PROJECTING IT—?!"

Then It Drops

The sound surged.

Bass hit first—

Deep.

Heavy.

Then—

Sharp, metallic beats layered in—

Fast.

Aggressive.

Then—

A rising electric tone—

And suddenly—

THE FULL THEME

The entire field filled with it.

Loud.

Powerful.

WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY louder and more intense than anyone expected.

The ground practically vibrated.

Denki screamed:

"WHY DOES IT GO THIS HARD—?!"

Mina's jaw dropped.

"THIS IS INSANE—"

Kirishima was practically glowing.

"THIS IS THE MANLIEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD—"

Ren Moves Again

I stepped forward—

And everything synced.

Perfectly.

Every movement hitting with the beat.

Every portal snapping open in rhythm.

Every shift amplified.

I wasn't just moving anymore.

I was performing.

Even Aizawa Notices

From the edge of the field—

Shota Aizawa stood watching.

"…What the hell…"

For once—

He didn't sound tired.

He sounded impressed.

All Might Arrives

A gust of wind—

And suddenly—

All Might landed nearby.

"I HEARD THIS FROM ACROSS CAMPUS—!"

"…Yeah that tracks," Kaito muttered.

All Might watched for a moment—

Then broke into a huge grin.

"YOUNG REN—! THIS IS—!"

He paused.

"…EXTREMELY INTENSE—!"

Peak Moment

The music hit its peak again—

I raised my hand—

Space folding around me—

Then vanished—

Reappearing instantly above them—

Landing clean—

Right on beat.

Silence Drops

The music cut off suddenly.

The field went quiet again.

No hum.

No rhythm.

Just…

Everyone staring at me.

Reactions

"…Dude," Denki said slowly.

"…You have a boss fight theme."

Mina nodded.

"…No—like—FINAL boss."

Kirishima pointed.

"YOU WALK INTO A ROOM AND THAT STARTS PLAYING—IT'S OVER."

Midoriya was shaking.

"…The implications of this—audio-based quirk amplification—Ren this is revolutionary—!"

Kaito smirked.

"…Yeah. You're not normal anymore."

"…I was never normal," I said.

I looked at my hands.

Space still faintly pulsing.

"…I can control it…"

I clenched my fist.

"…And now they can hear it."

Far away—

Watching through a screen—

The scientist's expression darkened slightly.

"…An externalized resonance…"

For the first time—

He looked… concerned.

Back to Ren

A small grin formed on my face.

"…Good."

Because now—

When I showed up—

Everyone would know.

Not just see me.

But hear me coming.
