If someone asked me to describe my life lately, I'd probably say this:
Step one: wake up.Step two: something ridiculous happens.Step three: try not to accidentally teleport somewhere dangerous.
Today started with step three.
Again.
Morning – U.A. Dorms
I woke up slowly, staring at the ceiling in the dorm room I shared down the hall from Kaito.
For once, nothing exploded.
No portals.
No villains.
No sticky notes.
Just sunlight through the window.
I stretched and sat up.
"Okay," I muttered to myself. "Normal day."
Five seconds later there was loud banging on my door.
"REN!"
Kaito.
Of course.
I opened the door halfway.
"What?"
Kaito stood there holding something like it was radioactive.
"…Explain."
He handed it to me.
It was a playing card.
From my deck.
The one I used yesterday when teleporting.
I blinked.
"…Okay?"
He pointed outside.
"That was stuck to the ceiling of the hallway."
I slowly looked up.
"…Oh."
Then I noticed something else.
More cards.
One on the wall.
One stuck in a plant.
One somehow wedged into the light fixture.
Denki walked past at that exact moment holding cereal.
He looked up.
"…Why is there a card in the smoke detector?"
I rubbed my face.
"I may have accidentally teleported in my sleep."
Denki stared.
"…You can do that now?!"
"APPARENTLY."
Common Room Chaos
A few minutes later we were all in the dorm common room.
Me.
Kaito.
Denki.
Mina.
Kirishima.
And Izuku Midoriya, who had appeared the second someone said the words "new quirk development."
Mina pointed at the cards spread across the table.
"So you teleported… while sleeping."
"Yes."
Denki looked impressed.
"That's honestly kinda cool."
Kaito crossed his arms.
"Until he sleep-teleports into the villain base again."
Everyone froze.
We all looked at each other.
That had actually happened before.
Kirishima suddenly clapped his hands.
"GOOD NEWS!"
We looked at him.
"What?"
"If Ren teleports somewhere dangerous…"
He grinned.
"We just follow him and rescue him!"
Denki pointed.
"That plan sounds like it ends with us getting kidnapped."
Midoriya looked thoughtful.
"If the teleportation activates unconsciously, that suggests Ren's spatial quirk is stabilizing to the point where his body recognizes it as a natural movement—"
I slowly slid my chair away.
He didn't notice.
He was already drawing diagrams.
Training Field
A few hours later Shota Aizawa had apparently heard about the situation.
Which meant one thing.
Training.
We were now standing on one of the outdoor training fields at U.A. High School.
Aizawa looked like he had slept approximately four minutes.
"Ren."
I straightened.
"…Yes?"
"Demonstrate the teleportation."
I looked around.
The training field was huge.
Fake buildings.
Obstacles.
Metal structures.
Okay.
That seemed safe enough.
I held up a card.
"Alright… here goes nothing."
I threw the card.
Focused.
And stepped forward.
The world twisted like someone folded space.
Then—
POP.
I appeared on top of a metal tower.
"…Oh."
Everyone looked up.
Denki yelled from below.
"HEY THAT WAS WAY BETTER!"
I waved.
"Yeah this one felt smoother!"
Midoriya was scribbling again.
Aizawa looked mildly impressed.
Which for him meant slightly less tired looking.
"Again."
I stepped forward.
POP.
Now I was beside Mina.
She jumped.
"AH—"
Then laughed.
"Okay that's actually awesome."
I tried again.
POP.
Now I was next to Kirishima.
"BRO!"
He grabbed my shoulder excitedly.
"That's so manly!"
Then I tried again.
Just one more.
I threw the card.
Stepped forward.
Focused—
And the world twisted again.
But this time something felt… different.
Wrong.
The air shifted.
Space stretched farther than it should.
And suddenly—
I wasn't at U.A. anymore.
Somewhere Else
I blinked.
Slowly.
"…Oh no."
I knew this place.
I definitely knew this place.
Because sitting at a table across the room was Tomura Shigaraki.
Next to him was Dabi.
And standing near the wall was Kurogiri.
They all looked up at me.
For a full five seconds nobody spoke.
Then Dabi sighed.
"…Again?"
I raised a hand awkwardly.
"Hi."
Shigaraki leaned back in his chair.
"…You just teleport here for fun now?"
"I swear this one was an accident."
Kurogiri tilted his head slightly.
"Fascinating."
Behind me, the portal I came through was still open.
And through it I could see the training field at U.A.
Which meant everyone there could see the League base.
Denki's voice echoed through the portal.
"OH COME ON HE DID IT AGAIN!"
I slowly turned back to the villains.
"…This is awkward."
Dabi nodded.
"Yeah."
Shigaraki pointed at the portal.
"Your teacher is staring."
I looked.
Sure enough.
Through the portal I could see Aizawa standing there.
Staring directly at me.
He looked very tired.
"…Ren."
"…Yes?"
"Come back."
Immediately.
I stepped backward.
POP.
Back at U.A.
Silence.
Everyone stared at me.
Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose.
"…We're going to need a better training plan."
I raised my hand slowly.
"On the bright side…"
Everyone looked at me.
"…I know how to get to the villain base now?"
Denki grabbed his head.
"THAT IS NOT A BRIGHT SIDE."
