Morning sunlight streamed through the dorm window at U.A. High School.
Birds chirped.
The campus was calm.
Peaceful.
Inside the dorm room, Ren slept like a rock.
Blankets everywhere.
Hair a mess.
Face smashed into the pillow.
After last night's teleport chaos, his brain had completely shut down.
A few minutes later the door creaked open.
Kaito stepped inside quietly.
He stretched and yawned.
"Man… that movie night destroyed me."
He glanced toward Ren.
Still asleep.
Kaito shook his head.
"Lazy."
He walked toward the window to close it.
Then he stopped.
"…Oh."
A sticky note was sitting on the windowsill.
Kaito picked it up slowly.
He squinted.
Then grinned.
"Oh this is GOOD."
He turned around dramatically.
"RENNNN."
Ren groaned.
"Five more minutes…"
Kaito held up the note.
"Renny-Penny."
Ren's eyes snapped open.
"…What."
Kaito cleared his throat and read dramatically.
"Good morning Renny-Penny ❤️Sleep well."
Silence.
Then Ren shot upright in bed.
"NOOOOOOO!"
He grabbed his head.
"THE NICKNAME FINALLY WENT AWAY!"
Kaito burst out laughing.
"Oh it's back forever now."
Ren flopped backward into his pillow.
"This is the worst day of my life."
Kaito was still laughing.
"Dude she watched you sleep."
Ren sat up again.
"THAT DOESN'T HELP!"
Before Kaito could respond—
BANG BANG BANG
Someone knocked on the dorm door.
A very familiar tired voice spoke from the hallway.
"Calder. Open the door."
Both boys froze.
Ren slowly looked at Kaito.
"…Why does that sound serious?"
Kaito shrugged.
Ren got up and opened the door.
Standing there was Shota Aizawa.
Hair messy.
Eyes tired.
Coffee in hand.
Looking like he hadn't slept.
Which meant something was wrong.
Aizawa stepped inside without saying a word.
Ren scratched his head awkwardly.
"Uh… good morning?"
Aizawa stared at him.
"…Sit down."
Ren slowly sat on the bed.
Kaito sat next to him.
Aizawa pulled out a small tablet.
Then he tapped the screen.
Security footage appeared.
Ren immediately recognized the location.
The dorm hallway.
The video played.
Ren suddenly appeared in the middle of the hallway.
Out of thin air.
Then disappeared again.
Ren blinked.
"…Oh."
Aizawa swiped the screen.
Another clip played.
Ren appeared in the cafeteria.
Standing on a table.
Screaming.
"WHY HERE AGAIN?!"
The footage cut again.
Now Ren appeared on the rooftop.
Arms in the air.
"I JUST WANT TO SLEEP!"
The video ended.
Aizawa slowly lowered the tablet.
Silence filled the room.
Ren stared at the screen.
"…That wasn't a dream."
Aizawa took a sip of coffee.
"No."
Kaito tried very hard not to laugh.
Aizawa continued.
"You teleported across campus eight times."
Ren slowly put his hands on his head.
"…I'm a problem."
Aizawa nodded.
"Yes."
Kaito finally lost it and started laughing.
Ren pointed at him.
"This is NOT funny!"
Aizawa rubbed his temple.
"Your quirk situation has officially become… complicated."
Ren looked up.
"Complicated?"
Aizawa stared at him.
"You have fire."
Ren nodded.
"You have a blood-based paralysis quirk."
Ren nodded again.
Aizawa leaned forward slightly.
"And now you're ripping holes in space."
Ren slowly raised his hand.
"…In my defense I didn't mean to."
Aizawa sighed.
"That's the problem."
Ren dropped back onto the bed dramatically.
"This is too much responsibility."
Kaito laughed again.
"You teleported into the cafeteria."
Ren pointed at him.
"I panicked!"
Aizawa stood up.
"Get dressed."
Ren looked up.
"…Why?"
Aizawa walked toward the door.
"Because today we start figuring out what your third quirk actually is."
He paused.
Then added:
"And how to stop you from accidentally teleporting into a villain base."
Ren froze.
"…Wait what."
Aizawa left the room.
Kaito slowly turned to Ren.
"…You did WHAT?"
Ren stared at the ceiling.
"…It was an accident."
Kaito collapsed laughing again.
And Ren groaned into his pillow.
Meanwhile the sticky note sat quietly on the desk.
The tiny hearts over the i's glowing in the morning sunlight.
