The medical wing was quiet.
Too quiet.
Most of Ren's friends had gone back to their dorms after the weird video. Only the soft hum of machines filled the room now.
Ren lay in bed staring at the ceiling.
"…What even is my life anymore?" he muttered.
Villains sending him messages.
A scientist trying to kill him.
A birthday party that turned into a battlefield.
And now everyone looking at him like he might explode at any moment.
Ren groaned and sat up.
"I need water."
He swung his legs over the side of the bed.
The room spun for a second.
"…Okay maybe I'm still a little dizzy."
He steadied himself and slowly walked toward the small table across the room.
A cup of water sat there.
Just a few steps away.
Ren reached out.
But his hand never touched the cup.
Instead—
FWOOOSH.
The air twisted.
For half a second the room bent like someone had torn reality open.
A dark ripple spread across the space in front of him.
Then—
POP.
Ren suddenly stumbled forward.
The water cup fell into his hands.
But he wasn't standing where he was before.
He was standing across the room.
Ren froze.
"…What."
He slowly turned around.
His bed was now several feet behind him.
"…Wait."
He looked at his hands.
Then the space where he had just been.
"…WAIT."
Ren blinked repeatedly.
"Did I just—"
The air flickered again.
A tiny black ripple formed for half a second before vanishing.
Ren's heart started racing.
"That looked like…"
His brain immediately went to the video earlier.
The swirling darkness.
The portal.
The mist.
The ability of Kurogiri.
"…No way."
Ren tried to calm down.
"Okay. Okay. Think."
Maybe he imagined it.
Yeah.
That had to be it.
He was injured.
He was tired.
He was hallucinating.
Totally normal.
Ren carefully walked back toward the bed.
"See? Everything's fine."
He reached the mattress.
Sat down.
Exhaled.
Then the air above the bed ripped open again.
A swirling black oval appeared for half a second.
Ren dropped straight through it.
And landed on the floor.
Across the room.
"…OW."
Ren slowly sat up.
"…Okay."
He stared at the empty air.
"…I did not imagine that."
The door suddenly opened.
Shota Aizawa stepped inside.
He immediately stopped.
Ren was sitting on the floor.
Across the room.
Holding a water cup.
Aizawa blinked.
"…Why are you over there."
Ren pointed weakly at the space in front of him.
"I think I just teleported."
Aizawa stared at him.
"…You what."
Ren scratched the back of his head.
"…Twice."
Aizawa's tired expression somehow became even more tired.
"…Ren."
"Yes?"
"How many quirks do you think you have?"
Ren thought about it.
"…Two?"
Aizawa slowly pinched the bridge of his nose.
Across the room, the air flickered again.
A tiny black tear opened and closed like a blinking eye.
Aizawa saw it.
And for the first time since meeting Ren…
He looked genuinely concerned.
"…That makes three."
Ren swallowed.
"…Oops."
