Chapter 2 - Strange Powers and something wrong

An orphanage lady found me around one hour after I was dropped off, along with a note that said " Toji Fushiguro," "anther one," she said with exhaustion, "this is the second one this week," "okay little guy let's make you less hungry."

Right after she said that I started feeling a current of warmth moving across my body, and realized that the woman who found me was using some sort of restoration ability on me as temporary relief from his hunger.

"Now, let's find you some food, shall we" she said, in that kind of voice reserved for either baby's or puppy's. When I heard her talk to me that way, I almost laughed out loud, not only was I a grown man, but also accounting for the fact that I was the most feared man in the sorcerer world.

Second only to Saturo Gojo of course.

After she fed me some milk ( artificial 😏), I was brought into a little room with flower and rainbow designs painted on the walls, and was promptly set into a crib and walked away from to what I guessed to be the other kids.

Time skip ten years later

"Man this oatmeal is still bland, I thought that ms. Rodriguez would of realized that nobody likes it, and some people have even started calling it " "the military grade taste killer," and I for one don't disagree with that nickname at all."

After I finished eating, I went back to my room to see if I can get some relaxation time, and while laying on my bed I couldn't help but reminisce on what has happened over the past couple of years, especially what happened two days ago.

Flashback begins

So here I was sitting on a bench minding my own business, when the kid with the most powerful quirk in the orphanage and who also happened to be two years older than me was making fun of me for not having a quirk,

So I punched him with about, a hundredth of one percent of my strength, but even that was enough for his nose to break and him to fall back around twenty feet away, seconds later I heard adults rushing towards us,

But before they could get to us, the kid stood up with tears streaming down his face and blood streaming down his chin and blasted me with fire, and since I was watching it, I could have easily avoided it, but some feeling, or instinct told me to stay still and see what happens.

But as the flames came in contact with my body, I didn't feel anything, which confused me because I know that I could be burned thanks to the cooking classes that the adults put us through,

And I didn't question the ability of the kid, since I've seen him reduce a tree to ashes in just two seconds, and I could literally see the bench I was sitting on melting rapidly, so what's different about this time,

"I don't know but I'm going to find out," I thought while the adults were worriedly checking my body for any signs of damage.

Long story short, the kid was hospitalized and was told that when he came back he would be sentenced to a two week time out with no leaving his room for anything other than going to the bathroom or to eat.

And I was asked if I was okay, later on after the adults were sure, they sent me to my room and was given the same punishment as the boy but for the rest of the day.

The next day I decided to try and figure out how my new quirk worked, so I went around asking the kids around the orphanage if they can try and use their quirks on me, and the results surprised me.

Turns out every time the or their quirk ability came within a certain distance from my skin the the quirks wouldn't work, and when I asked them how it felt they said it was like the quirk had disappeared.

I even asked one of the kids if they can touch me and try to use it in another direction, and they said they felt that same feeling again.

So while I had found out how my quirk worked, a side effect of that was the fact of the kids in the orphanage were now avoiding me like the plague, not that I minded of course, it was just something that I noticed while I was eating.

Flashback ends

"Now all I need to do is find out how to control this ability, and I might become the strongest person in this world," I thought, I started thinking about ways to work on my quirk when I started to hear the sound of footsteps walking down the hallway.

From the sound I could already tell that it was ms. Smith, and from the hurried steps, I could already tell that something was wrong, she stopped at my door and promptly opened it

"Toji come to the adoption room please," as soon as I saw her my suspicions were confirmed, her eyes were twitching, something that I noticed that she does when she's nervous, and her voice was thick with desperation, fear and forced cheerfulness.

"What's wrong," I ask, "nothing," she blatantly lies, "just come with me,""Let's see how this plays out," I thought as I walk down the hallway, and into the direction of the adoption room.
