Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Forbidden Library

I opened the door to the library, which hadn't been opened for many years. Dust covered every book except for the upper shelves. Had someone browsed them before? I was sure the door had been closed for years, but I didn't care. I tried to clean the room as much as I could, but my shock came when I discovered that four entire shelves of books were in a strange language. I had never seen books like these before in my life. I didn't know my parents had knowledge of foreign languages, although it wouldn't have surprised me—they were lovers of reading.

I continued browsing almost all the shelves until I started hearing whispers in my ear:

"Stop them"

The book fell from my hand in fear. The voice sounded so real that I felt my ear heat up slightly, as if someone was truly whispering in it. I left the book on the floor, and to my astonishment, it had fallen open on a page showing strange creatures kneeling before someone sitting on a chair. I immediately closed the door and found Samir standing outside with a strange look on his face.

Samir: "Sir Younes, what were you doing inside the room?"

Younes: "I just wanted to browse some historical books. Is there a problem?"

Samir: "No, of course not… Excuse my rudeness, but it would have been better to inform me beforehand so I could clean the room. I don't want you to get sick because of it."

Younes: "No need. Close the door tightly with you; that room brings back unhappy memories."

Samir nodded with a strange look and told me he would make sure to do so after cleaning it. I didn't stop him so he wouldn't think I was sick or needed sleep. I decided to forget about it and take some rest.
