Chapter 120 - The Pack House

(MASON'S POV)

My brain short-circuited.

"You are, Mason."

The words kept bouncing around in my head long after Victor said them. I stood frozen in the middle of the forest, the moonlight slipping through the trees in thin streaks, staring at him like none of this could possibly be real.

I tried to say something. Anything. My mouth opened, then shut again. Nothing came out except a strangled little sound that might have been a laugh or a sob—I couldn't tell.

Victor's smile was bright, almost gentle, like he'd just handed me the most precious gift in the world instead of dropping a nuclear bomb on my reality.

I finally managed words, voice cracking. "What… what are you talking about? How the hell am I your mother? I'm eighteen. I'm human. I'm—" My voice broke. I turned helplessly to Blue, searching his face for any sign that this was some elaborate prank. "Blue? What is he saying?"

Blue's jaw was tight enough to crack stone. His eyes flicked to Victor with pure murder in them.
