"This is Section 8?"
Detective Marlow asked as he stared at a minimal-looking office building. It was a gray L-shape block with curtain wall glass.
"Not what you were expecting?"
Detective Cole asked as she let Nathan out of the car. They walked Nathan through the front door.
Two men in suits walked over.
"We will take over from here," one of the men said and grabbed Nathan and walked him further into the building.
"Yeah, you are welcome," Detective Marlow said as he hesitated to turn around.
The detectives walked out and Cole turned around and saw her reflection in the glass doors.
"What if he was telling the truth?" Cole asked.
"The truth about what?" Marlow asked.
"About us leading him to the slaughter," Cole explained.
"He said they were going to kill us too. I'm guessing he is alive since we are too," Marlow mentioned.
"Yeah, I guess you are right. Even an agent will say anything to evade justice," Cole said.
They got in their car and drove away.
Meanwhile, in the building, the men walked Nathan into an interrogation room. He looked at a camera in the corner of the room.
Then walk to one of the two metal chairs at a matching table. Nathan's heart knocked against his chest.
"Hello, is anybody there. Where am I?" Nathan yelled as he looked up at the camera.
"I know you are not Section 8," Nathan added.
The door suddenly opened and Corvus walked in. Nathan nearly fell from his chair as he tried to move back.
He got up so quickly that his chair fell.
"We are not less Section 8 than any of you and your friends. We are all playing dress up, I would know," Corvus said and walked over and picked up the chair.
Nathan did not take his eyes off him.
"Sit," Corvus said and Nathan slowly took his seat.
'I wish to lunge at him and bite him in the neck. No punch him in the face. Maybe, squeeze the life out of him and watch as the light in his eyes disappears,' countless thoughts ran through his mind.
"Where is the outspoken man I saw behind the camera?" Corvus asked.
"I don't know how but I will kill you. It may not be now or tomorrow. For what you did to Felix, I will make you regret ever touching him," Nathan said gritting his teeth.
Corvus stared at him as he waited for him to finish. After Nathan was done, he just laughed and walked out.
The veins on Nathan's temple popped out. He shivered with anger. He got up and picked up his chair and threw it at the door.
Nathan stayed in the room for two days. He was occasionally given food and water. Squatting in the corner of the room he tried to fall asleep.
His arms wrapped tightly around him could not provide the necessary warmth to help him sleep.
He suddenly got up and screamed at the camera.
"Kill me already."
Minutes later the door opened.
"I don't want to kill you. I was but I decided against it. I want you to witness my coronation," Corvus explained.
"Why?" Nathan asked.
"It seems you still have hope of avenging your friends. I want to shatter that hope. Once you see what I can do after my coronation, you'll be free of that delusion," Corvus explained.
"Then what?" Nathan asked.
"Kill you of course," Corvus said casually.
Nathan's eyes widened instantly.
"Oh, you didn't possibly think I'll let you go. Your dad kept me trapped for years," Corvus said and walked out.
