This wasn't just a sound; it was pressure in the air, deep in the boy's chest, a call louder than ever before.
Alarms blared as the boy ran through unfamiliar corridors. He couldn't escape the mounting pressure in his chest; it grew as he walked, as if he was closing in on something.
Upon arrival below, he could see his parents watching a couple of monitors very closely. "It's responding again," his mother said, stammering on her words.
His father didn't look away. "This is truly fascinating."
What they were staring at could only be described as a void space. It had a deep and dark black hue, and it seemed like it was constantly folding space inward. It was almost like it was warping the very fabrics of time and space. The boy didn't know what he had been looking at, but one thing was for sure. It was pulling him in, and it didn't seem like it was planning on stopping.
The boy had stepped so closely, "Seth!" his mother cried, running to him.
The distortion and light being trapped wrapped itself around him. Gravity tilted slightly. Panic had now set in for him and his parents. "What's happening? I didn't do anything!" he yelled. "It's trying to resonate with him," his father screamed. At that moment, the world around Seth had come to a complete still. This rift had seemed to completely obey him in this timeframe.
As he screamed, The Hollow compressed violently.
His parents looked at him, not in fear, but in certainty and fascination. "It's just as we'd thought," his mother whispered. The containment field failed. "We'll have to force it inward," his father said. The floor cracked. Gravity had inverted itself. His mother shoved him back. "I'm sorry son, we didn't mean for any of this to happen." The Hollow imploded in on itself. His parents were pulled into it, stretching into shadows of light and vanishing with nothing left behind but their faint screams.
Silence.
But this story takes place years later, a time when Seth has grown older, he now has a fixed view of the entire world around him. He's grown stronger but yet still has room to grow. This will be an adventure following Seth and many others, where they traverse their world and uncover the unknown.
He didn't know that much about this day, all he knew was that The Hollow had everything from him, and that one day he'd find more out...
