Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 — Glow

Camila didn't squeal.

She gasped.

"Seraphina Vale," she said dramatically, holding up one of the frosted bottles from Lumen.Skin as though it were a diamond. "We are not playing small anymore."

Seraphina laughed, but her pulse fluttered.

"I haven't even posted yet."

"Exactly," Camila replied, already moving towards her garment rack. "Which is why we're doing this properly."

Within minutes, the flat had transformed into a studio. Curtains drawn halfway to soften the light. The dining chair repositioned near the window. Camila flipping through hangers with sharp, decisive movements.

"No heavy makeup," Camila murmured. "Bare skin. Hair loose. And this."

She pulled out an ivory silk slip dress — fluid, minimal, structured just enough to suggest strength beneath softness.

"My latest sample," Camila added casually, though pride shimmered beneath her tone.

Seraphina changed slowly, studying herself in the mirror afterwards. The silk skimmed her frame without clinging. Clean lines. No distraction.

She looked… refined.

Not the girl who had been betrayed.

Not the woman who had hidden.

Someone new.

Camila adjusted a strap gently. "You don't need to pose," she said. "Just exist."

The words settled into Seraphina's chest.

Just exist.

She set her phone on the tripod and pressed record.

Morning light poured across her skin as she applied the serum in slow, deliberate strokes. No exaggerated expressions. No forced smile. Just calm presence.

She spoke softly about starting again. About taking care of yourself when no one else does. About glow that begins beneath the surface.

When she finished filming, the room felt still.

Different.

Camila watched the playback and nodded once. "That's the one."

Seraphina hesitated only a second before posting.

Her heart raced as the screen refreshed.

Ten seconds.

Thirty.

A minute.

Notifications began to cascade down her phone.

Likes. Comments. Shares.

Her breath caught.

This wasn't just engagement.

It was momentum.

And somewhere, behind another screen, a pair of steady eyes watched the same video — noticing not just the glow on her skin…

But the quiet strength in her voice.
