Dominic's hands were shaking as he made phone calls from his apartment.
He'd been outmaneuvered. Completely. Vincent had made him irrelevant without even confronting him directly. Had elevated Marcus without making it look like a punishment for Dominic. Had done it all so smoothly that half the family probably thought it was a logical decision instead of a devastating blow.
Dominic understood the calculus now. He had nothing. No operations. No authority. No future. Unless he could move fast enough to change the equation before Vincent solidified Marcus's position.
He pulled out the files James Colton had given him years ago. The ones about federal corruption. The ones that made certain people in government very interested in keeping the Moretti family functional instead of destroyed.
That was his leverage. That was his last card.
