Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Elf's Spiritual Interrogation of Kami-sama

The labyrinth city of Orario is undoubtedly the center of the world.

Countless wealth, glory, and dreams are buried in the depths of the 'Dungeon'.

Gods descend from the heavenly realm, seeking thrills, sealing most of their divine powers, and bestowing favors upon mortals to form Familias and conquer the Dungeon.

Joining a strong and prosperous Familia is every new Adventurer's dream.

Adventurers level up by defeating monsters, obtaining magic stones, and drop items to exchange for wealth.

The gods enjoy watching their children grow and compete with other Familias.

But there are always exceptions.

Heimdall sighed as he watched yet another Adventurer glance at his recruitment poster with disdain and quickly walk away.

He leaned against his so-called shrine—a small two-story building—holding a wooden sign with crooked letters:

[Heimdall Familia, sincerely recruiting Adventurers, no gender or race restrictions, food and lodging provided, excellent treatment!]

Passersby would stare at the sign, then at the building, and finally at Heimdall.

Most would pause, then show a complex expression of pity, doubt, and skepticism before hurriedly walking away.

Heimdall knew the appearance was lacking.

As someone who transmigrated into this world and became an ancient god.

Heimdall should be overjoyed.

But reality slapped him in the face.

In Orario, a god's success depends on two things: reputation and wealth.

Famous gods like Loki or the beautiful Freya don't need to recruit; people flock to them.

Wealthy gods like Hephaestus can attract Adventurers with top-tier equipment and benefits.

But Heimdall had neither reputation nor wealth.

Frustration consumed him.

He now understood how Hestia felt, always struggling to recruit members.

Heimdall sighed again, leaning back in his chair, his mind sinking into thought.

He had been in the lower world for a month.

Last week, he spent all his savings on the recruitment sign, marking the first step of his grand ambition—recruiting members.

But reality struck again.

A light footstep stopped in front of Heimdall.

He looked up to see an elf girl standing before his stall, curiously examining the sign.

She had the characteristic pointed ears and beautiful features of the elf race.

Her soft, golden hair shimmered in the sunlight, and she wore a fitted leather armor that highlighted her slender figure while maintaining a practical Adventurer's appearance.

A delicate short bow hung from her waist, and a quiver of arrows was slung over her back, clearly marking her as an archer.

More importantly, she looked like a newcomer.

A true veteran Adventurer wouldn't give his stall a second glance.

Opportunity!

Heimdall straightened up, putting on his most friendly and sincere smile:

'Greetings, beautiful lady.'

'Are you a new Adventurer in Orario? Looking for a suitable Familia?'

The elf girl looked up from the sign, her green eyes widening slightly as she took in Heimdall's appearance, a faint blush crossing her cheeks before she composed herself.

Heimdall's appearance was his only asset besides his godly power.

With black hair and eyes, and features as exquisite as a masterpiece—well, he was a god now, so that made sense.

His aura was clean and fresh, even in simple clothes, his elegance shone through.

His looks alone could make 99% of Orario's gods jealous.

But Orario's people were practical.

'Yes, I am Leila, new to this city.'

The elf girl nodded gracefully.

Her gaze shifted between Heimdall and the dilapidated shrine, a hint of scrutiny in her eyes.

'Are you the Kami-sama of this Familia?'

'Indeed, I am.'

Heimdall puffed out his chest, trying to look more reliable.

'Though my Familia is newly established, our potential is limitless!

Join now and become a core member with unlimited future prospects!'

Heimdall launched into a sales pitch, using all the tricks he remembered from his past life:

'Imagine, when our Familia becomes one of Orario's top forces, your name will be etched in our history!'

Leila listened quietly, then asked a question that cut through Heimdall's grand words:

'So, Lord Heimdall, is your name famous in this world or in the heavenly realm?'

'Or do you have close ties with other gods in Orario?'

Heimdall was stumped.

'Well, I'm quite low-key, not well-known in this world.'

Heimdall evaded the question.

Though his name wasn't as renowned as Loki, Freya, or Zeus in this world, he wasn't unknown in the heavenly realm.

But mentioning those names here wouldn't help.

Leila remained polite, but her questions became more serious:

'So, is this building your Familia's base? Any plans for renovation or relocation? What's your funding source?'

Heimdall started to sweat.
