Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: Love or Law

Kabir's trial date came closer. Evidence against him was strong. If convicted, he would spend many years in prison. Aarya felt torn apart inside.

She tried to focus on her work, but her heart betrayed her. She realized she had fallen in love with him. It was not sudden passion. It was slow, deep, and frightening.

One evening, Kabir requested to see her. When she entered the cell, he looked serious. "I never planned to feel this way," he said. "But you changed something in me."

He admitted he was ready to accept punishment for his crimes. "Maybe prison is what I deserve," he said. "But meeting you made me want to become better."

Tears filled Aarya's eyes. She understood that love does not erase mistakes. It does not cancel justice.

On the day of the verdict, Kabir was sentenced to several years in prison. Aarya stood in the courtroom, her face calm but her heart breaking.

As officers led him away, he turned once and looked at her. There was no anger in his eyes. Only hope.

Months later, Aarya continued her duty as a police officer. But she also began visiting Kabir in prison—not as an officer, but as someone who believed in his change.

Their love was not easy. It was not perfect. It was built in shadows and tested by law.

But sometimes, even in the darkest places, love finds a way to grow.
