Chapter 214 - Chapter 214: An Encounter with an Ōtsutsuki

To Dan, if the extraterrestrial Ōtsutsuki Clan were to be regarded as a civilization in the broadest sense, they would be classified as a nomadic civilization . one that constantly wanders across the universe in search of food. They never settle in one place, but instead travel from planet to planet and from one star system to another, seeking the energy that sustains their existence.

Because of that, he knew he could never accurately judge their true level or actual strength based solely on what had been shown in the original story he had watched back in his previous world.

There might very well be members far stronger, deeper, and more evolved than Shibai Ōtsutsuki himself. Others could be scattered across entirely different regions of this vast universe, never appearing in the story he had once known simply because its events had been confined to one tiny corner of the cosmos.

Perhaps all of this was merely theoretical speculation, but to Dan it was a far more realistic and rational conclusion than relying entirely on fragmented knowledge that might not reflect the true scope of such a dangerous interstellar civilization.

For that reason, he never intended to provoke the clan himself or confront them directly before the proper time. Instead, he would leave that role to those who were destined according to the original course of events to face the Ōtsutsuki in the future, such as Naruto and Sasuke.

His own role would simply be to guide the wagon of human civilization from the shadows, far from public view, steering it toward strength and progress while tempering it through hardships, wars, and tragedies that would forge humanity into something stronger with every passing generation. Throughout it all, he would remain hidden, away from the spotlight and direct confrontation.

Yet what a person desires and what reality forces upon them are often two entirely different things.

That was precisely the situation Dan now found himself in.

After arriving on the second living planet the one inhabited not by intelligent civilizations but by a rich variety of wild life . in order to collect several animal species to enrich his newly created inner world, he unexpectedly found himself standing face to face with a member of that filthy extraterrestrial clan on the very planet he had believed to be safe and free of any major surprises.

Even worse, he caught the alien in the middle of one of their wicked rituals.

The accursed Chakra Tree had already been planted and had begun draining the planet's natural energy.

In an instant, Dan's mind accelerated to its absolute limit, calculating the best possible way to respond to this unforeseen encounter while rapidly evaluating every available option for dealing with this malignant virus.

At that exact same moment, the pale-skinned Ōtsutsuki with a prominent horn upon his head and three strange eyes . noticed Dan and spoke several words in an unfamiliar and remarkably complex language.

Thanks to his enhanced brain and the immense spiritual power currently operating at maximum capacity, Dan analyzed the language almost instantly.

He immediately understood what the alien had said.

"What delicious food."

The greed within those words perfectly embodied the arrogance of the Ōtsutsuki, a race that viewed every other form of life in the universe as nothing more than a resource to be harvested and consumed.

The alien then launched himself directly toward Dan at the greatest speed he could muster. His sudden movement reflected absolute confidence in his own superiority and power. Extending his strange palm with its additional eye embedded in its center . he prepared to activate one of his abilities.

This was an unexpected and genuine test of everything Dan had developed since arriving in this world.

A trial for which he had never planned nor specifically prepared.

His mind instantly processed every piece of information available before him . the alien's apparent strength, the speed of his movements, the nature of the energy radiating from him, the possibility that other members of his clan might be nearby, and above all, the consequences of whatever action he chose to take in this critical moment.

He understood all too well that any confrontation with the Ōtsutsuki could expose both his existence and his true strength long before the time he had intended to reveal himself.

And that single mistake had the potential to alter every one of his long-term plans for preserving humanity and guiding its evolution beyond the notice of the cosmic threat lurking over their world.
