Inside a private, window-side room at the Imperial Majesty Hotel.
Aria Sterling sat next to Adrian Rhodes, with Brendan Lynch across from them.
Brendan Lynch was on the phone. "Where are you? Aria and I have been waiting for a while. When are you getting here?"
After the person on the other end spoke for a bit, Brendan Lynch just said, "Hurry up," and hung up.
He gave an embarrassed smile. "Sorry, Aria. We'll have to wait a bit longer. Evan's stuck in traffic."
"I'm not in a hurry." Aria Sterling smiled, her expression calm.
They waited nearly another hour before Evan Lynch finally sauntered in.
The moment he entered, Evan Lynch started complaining. "I must have the worst luck imaginable today. I tripped the second I walked out the door. Then, not only did I get stuck in traffic, but I also got into a car accident! And just now, downstairs, a potted succulent fell and nearly brained me. I'm furious!"
