Aria Sterling knew Iris Jennings didn't have a single good intention, but seeing her put so much effort into her act, she couldn't be bothered to expose her.
'Why would I bother arguing with someone who doesn't have long to live?'
Iris Jennings dragged Aria Sterling along, pretending to help her pick out jewelry. At first, she steered Aria toward the cheaper items, pieces worth only a few thousand, or perhaps ten thousand. Iris already thought this was quite expensive, and even she and her friend Chelsea Morgan had picked out several pieces they liked. But to her surprise, Aria didn't seem interested in a single one.
"Aria, don't tell me you look down on even these pieces?" Iris Jennings was getting anxious. If they kept looking, they'd be in the section for jewelry costing over a hundred thousand.
'There was no way she was buying Aria something that expensive.'
