Spencer smiled at her. "Then isn't that even better? Marry Opal, and we'll make a close bond even closer. As a rule, we members of the Royal Family do not marry commoners, but for you, Miss Lowell, I can make an exception."
"Mr. Spencer, perhaps you've misunderstood me. Opal and I can be friends, or even family, but we can't be together with the goal of marriage."
Spencer sighed. "But my son loves only you. He won't marry anyone else. Miss Lowell, what am I, as a father, to do?"
Just then, a banging sound came from the door of an inner room in the office.
