"Time to pay your tuition."
Rosalind Lowell pouted and reluctantly gave him a peck.
Alaric Davenport narrowed his eyes at her. "Just going through the motions?"
Rosalind planted a much firmer kiss on him. Only then did Alaric say with satisfaction, "That's more like it."
"Huh?" Rosalind frowned, staring at him. 'Why do I feel like I've just been played?'
"Alaric Davenport!"
Alaric quickly held back the little spitfire before she could erupt. "Alright, alright. I'll find a professional to take a look for you some other day."
Rosalind pursed her lips. "I don't want to take any shortcuts. I want to close the distance between us on my own merit."
Alaric placed a hand on her back, leaning in closer. "Is this not close enough?"
Rosalind shook her head and lightly thumped his chest. "Not this kind of close."
"What kind, then?" Alaric sat up straight, tilting his chin up slightly and breathing hotly into her ear.
