Opal gave a faint smile. "Leave her with me. You can go."
Ron Adler and Tiana Adler scurried away at top speed, as if their soles had been greased.
Opal approached her with a smile. "And what should I call this beautiful young lady?"
"Rosalind Lowell."
He knelt gracefully, untying her ropes. "My apologies, Miss Lowell. My people are a bit ill-mannered. I'll be sure to discipline them properly."
Rosalind Lowell pressed her lips together and didn't answer.
"Might I invite you to dinner?"
"I want to go home! Let me go home!"
Seeing her show a little spirit, Opal's eyes glinted with even more delight and interest. "Now that you're here, why not get to know each other a little before you go?"
Rosalind Lowell said, "I'm sorry, but I don't want to have dinner with you."
Opal raised an eyebrow. No one had ever dared to speak to him that way. This woman... he was growing more interested by the second.
