The next morning, Su Yaoyao slowly woke up. Still groggy with sleep, she reached out to the side, only to touch a cold, empty stretch of bed.
She froze for a moment, the cold shock chasing away the last of her drowsiness. A glance around the room confirmed her suspicion—Augustine was nowhere to be seen.
Su Yaoyao thought to herself, 'He must be busy with his complicated affairs again.'
'This actually works out perfectly for me,' she mused. 'Otherwise, I'd have to rack my brain for a way to sneak out of the palace from right under his nose.'
Su Yaoyao got up lazily and strolled over to the wardrobe.
Her gaze drifted over the gorgeous clothes, carefully selecting her outfit for the day.
Finally, she chose a light pink dress. Its skirt was as light and ethereal as flower petals, while the collar and cuffs were adorned with delicate lace, giving it an air of elegance with a hint of playfulness.
