Her messages had been met with casual replies, so she'd assumed he was busy. But then she saw him out living it up at bars and clubs, clearly having the time of his life.
What was that if not a breakup?
Lianne met Seth Sinclair's gaze, her eyes wavering for a moment before she looked away. "No one needs to say it. A month of no contact is a default breakup."
Seth Sinclair scoffed. "You ran off to school to hide from me for half a month, and the first thing you do when you're out is go have dinner at another man's house. Did you ever even consider me your boyfriend?"
His tone grew harsher.
In the past, when misunderstood, Lianne wouldn't have deigned to argue. But now, an inexplicable sting filled her nose as she stared right at him. "When did I hide from you? I told you I had things to do at school—you just didn't listen. I messaged you during that half-month I was on campus, and you were the one who gave me the cold shoulder."
