She peered ahead. There was still a ways to go.
Lianne wrapped one arm around Seth Sinclair's neck and pulled her phone out of her bag with the other.
Lying on his back, she played on her phone, scrolling through her album. She stopped at a photo she had taken on a previous trip to Veridia City, in The Skyway District. An ancient temple stood tall amidst modern buildings, the road and tram tracks sharing the frame. It was a picture of a bustling metropolis quietly enjoying the temple's serenity—a timeless blend of the ancient and the modern.
She had paid to enter the temple a few times. It wasn't just magnificent on the outside; the interior was just as impressive. The Buddha statues were solid gold, and the decorative railings were all white marble.
Recalling this, Lianne couldn't help but mutter under her breath, "If God charges a fee to grant my wishes, isn't that bribery?"
Seth Sinclair chuckled. "You didn't go, then?"
Lianne: "...I went."
