Inside the vast, magnificent dining room.
The three of them sat at the table for breakfast. Adhering to the custom of not speaking while eating, no one said a word.
Lianne Lianne glanced out of the corner of her eye at Seth Sinclair on her left, then at Ethan Sinclair on her right, and a sense of unreality washed over her.
'How did I end up having breakfast with them?'
The two Sinclair brothers, born noble and aloof, silently radiated an intimidating and oppressive aura.
The chef brought out a light seafood congee, respectfully ladled a bowl for each of them, and began explaining the ingredients and their health benefits, citing ancient herbal remedies and principles of traditional medicine... Lianne Lianne was preoccupied and didn't absorb any of it.
Ethan Sinclair motioned for the chef to give the first bowl to Lianne Lianne, then said to her, "Yesterday's meal was quite rich. A lighter diet today will be better for digestion."
"Thank you."
