Hearing that, it became impossible for Lianne to feign ignorance any longer.
She had told him she was meeting with her mentor and couldn't have dinner with him, but he had ended up catching her with Ethan Sinclair.
Lianne wasn't in the habit of explaining herself, and she especially hated having to justify her actions.
"You agreed to keep this private. Are you bringing this up now because you want to back out?"
Their eyes met. Seth Sinclair's voice was devoid of warmth as his thin lips parted slightly. "And what if I do?"
Lianne couldn't figure out his temperamental nature. "If you can't accept this, then like I told you before, what happened between us was just an accident. There are no feelings involved. You were interested in me, so I was willing to spend six months playing along with you, but I don't want these six months to ruin…"
