With that, she quickly rose and walked toward Lianne Lianne. The young gentleman who took over her hand glanced down at the cards—a hand so tragic it felt like being exiled to Africa—and called for Sophie Sheridan to come back, but she pretended not to hear.
"Lia, have some fruit." Sophie Sheridan set the platter a waiter had just brought down in front of Lianne Lianne. "Did you get that piece of calligraphy Evan Caldwell lost in the ski bet?"
