No matter how worrisome a child Lao Wu was, under the Jiang Family's protection, even a second-generation rich kid could live a life of luxury.
Lao Liu quietly watched her brothers comfort their mother. She walked over, sat in Ji Xiaosong's lap, and said in a soft, sweet voice, "Mom, even our ancestral luck has its limits. It can't go on forever, can it? The Jiang Family has been prosperous for many years, and we've only produced one troublemaker like Lao Wu."
Hearing her daughter's attempt at consolation, Ji Xiaosong felt like her world was ending.
"You all... Never mind. Just don't try to comfort me."
Ji Xiaosong gradually came to accept that Lao Wu was mischievous and always causing trouble. She eventually came to terms with it; as long as the boy was alive and well and didn't do anything truly heinous, that was enough.
The Jiang Family was rich; they could afford to support him, so they did.
And so, under Ji Xiaosong's occasional beatings, Lao Wu finally grew up.
