Lumos carried Giselle Sterling downstairs just as Ivy Holden rushed to the foot of the stairs.
"Is that her?!" Ivy Holden asked, looking at the filthy woman.
"Her condition is very poor. We need to get her to a doctor immediately," Lumos repeated.
"Get her to a hospital, now!" Jensen Morrison said, then turned and shouted, "Bring the car around! Have Doctor Chambers meet us and go to the hospital!"
Bill Holden was late because he had been arranging for the car and the doctor.
Kai Sterling followed soon after. The moment he saw his daughter, he nearly fainted.
"Giselle! Giselle..." Kai Sterling reached out to take his daughter.
"AHHH—AHHH—Go away! Go away—" But Giselle Sterling only clung tighter to Lumos's neck, shrieking in terror.
The sight felt like a knife twisting in Kai Sterling's heart, and tears instantly streamed down his aged face.
