Ivy Holden returned to her room at the guesthouse. She first took a shower and changed her clothes, then picked up her phone to call Jensen Morrison.
"So, what happened? Did you get them to talk?"
"They talked. It was that woman, Yvette Willow. But she didn't want me dead, just wanted to make me suffer a bit," Jensen Morrison scoffed.
"Brianna Ellison's mom? Because of that land in the Southwest, or because of Brianna? That woman is ruthless."
"I'll be back in a bit. Let's talk when I see you."
"Okay, I'll get you something to eat," Ivy Holden said, setting down her phone and heading to the kitchenette.
The guesthouse's kitchenette was simple, but Ivy Holden had packed her suitcase with a personal stash of goodies—self-heating hot pots, instant noodles, sweet rice balls, and every other kind of instant food imaginable.
