"Danny. Do you know a kid about this tall?" Ivy Holden asked, raising her hand to her chest.
The old lady shook her head without a second thought. "Don't know him. There's no kid named Danny here. All the young people have moved away!"
"Moved away?" Ivy asked, puzzled.
The old lady shook her head. "This place is slated for demolition! A lot of people took the money and left! It's just us old coots, too stubborn and sentimental to move! What's worth reporting on in a filthy, chaotic place like this? Just head back the way you came, walk to the end of this alley, and make a turn. You'll be out!"
"Alright! Thank you so much!" Ivy bowed her head respectfully to the old lady, her tone exceptionally polite.
"It's too hot to be wandering around. You should head back," the old lady advised, turning to leave but then adding another word of caution.
