Devon Dixon's expression changed instantly. He frowned and asked, "What's that supposed to mean? When did I ever have people tailing you?"
Bill Holden unlocked his phone, pulled up a few recently taken photos from his album, and flipped the screen around for Devon Dixon to see. "These men are your subordinates, aren't they, Mr. Dixon? As far as I know, you're the vice-captain of the Garrison's Second Squad, and all these men are under your command. They're your direct reports. Besides you, who else could possibly give them orders?"
Devon Dixon broke into a cold sweat.
"Mr. Holden, please wait a moment," Devon Dixon said as he picked up his phone and called one of the men in the photos.
The call connected quickly. The person on the other end was clearly in the middle of a stakeout, his voice hushed. "Hey, Captain?"
"Where are you? And what are you doing?" Devon Dixon demanded, his brow furrowed.
"I'm on a mission!"
"What mission?"
"The… the one you assigned us. How could you…"
