Initially, Ivy Holden had planned to just take it easy, get a good night's sleep, and deal with everything in the morning.
But after eating her fill and taking a shower, she was lying in bed in her pajamas, scrolling through livestreams on her phone. Just as the boring content was lulling her to sleep, she heard a RUSTLING sound from outside the window. With a jolt, she shot up from the bed, grabbing the dagger from under her pillow and hiding silently in the corner behind the curtains.
The person outside pressed close to the balcony's French doors and went quiet for a moment, apparently checking to see if the person inside was sound asleep.
Ivy Holden held her breath and focused. She could even hear the person's breathing through the wall.
The person outside was also very cautious, crouching by the window for a moment. Hearing no movement, they quietly tried to slide the balcony door open.
