The rhythmic sound of hammering from both sides of the road struck one's heart like the beat of a heavy drum.
Su Yu followed Wang Hu into Wang's Blacksmith Shop. A middle-aged woman inside was wiping various iron tools. She looked up, and her face lit up with joy when she saw Wang Hu.
"Xiaohu, what are you doing at the shop?"
"Mom, I brought a senior brother from the hall today. This is Brother Su, the one I told you about. He wants to have a long saber forged."
Su Yu immediately greeted her, setting down the bolts of cloth and other items he had bought in advance.
The woman offered a kind smile. "You must be Su Yu. I've heard Xiaohu mention you before, saying you take good care of him. Please, come in and sit down."
With that, the woman turned and shouted toward the back courtyard, from which the intermittent clang of hammering could be heard. "Husband! Xiaohu and his senior brother are here!"
