"Alright, you've got a sharp tongue, girl, so you must be quick-witted. Come help me with the books when you have free time." The woman finally smiled, seeming like a real, living person.
It left Shi Li a bit dazed.
It reminded her of the woman from her old school cafeteria job, who had also loved to smile just like that.
After settling the matter, Shi Li readily bought four meals from the counter and brought them back.
She didn't have much money left, but at least she wouldn't have to worry about her next few meals, which wasn't too bad.
However, when Shi Li got back to the dorm, the other girls saw the food and were not nearly as pleased as she had imagined.
Shi Li had already chosen one of the more expensive counters in the cafeteria. The people who usually ate there were either faculty and staff or students who got a generous allowance from home.
Logically, they should have been satisfied.
