By the time Hawke Wood's order was relayed, the Black Cavalry had already charged to the riverbank. Steven's escorting Soldiers and Leopold's golden-armored guards drew their weapons to fight back, trying to create an opportunity for Steven to escape with Agnes.
But at least fifty members of the Black Cavalry charged over, scattering their ranks in an instant!
Several Soldiers fell to the ground, motionless.
Limbs were sent flying, and heads rolled.
Steven had just managed to help Agnes onto her horse when a rope was thrown, instantly snaring her. Agnes was then yanked down by the rope, crashing hard onto the ground. It was impossible to tell if she was dead or alive.
"Hahaha!"
The member of the Black Cavalry holding the rope laughed heartily. After dragging Miss Agnes for some distance, he rode over, leaned down, and snatched the thin, pitiful Agnes from the ground, slinging her over his saddle.
