Aria Sterling ignored Damian Xavier's taunt. She silently peeled the orange, separated it into segments, and placed them on a nearby plate.
"I've peeled the orange. I'm leaving now."
"Feed me!" Damian Xavier commanded again.
Aria Sterling's expression grew colder. "I'm not your servant."
Damian Xavier stared at her face, his gaze stern. "Don't you care about me at all?"
'Care? He's talking to me about care? In all the years we've been together, when has he ever cared about me?'
Seeing his expression darken, Aria Sterling impatiently grabbed a segment of orange and shoved it into his mouth.
"Can we call it even now? From now on, let's go our separate ways and stay out of each other's lives."
"Even? Aria Sterling, you're far too naive! You put me in the hospital. I nearly died at your hands. Do you think I'm just going to let it go?"
Aria Sterling's anger flared. "Then what the hell do you want?"
"Stay by my side and take care of me!"
"In your dreams!"
